The govt extended the general holidays till May 5 to stop the spread of the coronavirus or COVID-19 in the country.
Sheikh Yousuf Harun, secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Wednesday afternoon.
Vehicles of all emergency services will be exempt from restrictions.
Earlier on March 23, the government first declared a 10-day general holiday, effective from March 26 to April 4, later gradually extending to April 25.
The death toll from the infectious virus increased to 120 and the total number of infected people was at 3,772 as of Wednesday.
